INTRODUCTION TO THE DADU (DIGITAL AUDIO DEGENERATION UNIT)
“You would do better, at least no worse, to obliterate texts than to blacken margins, to fill in the holes of words till all is blank and flat and the whole ghastly business looks like what it is: senseless, speechless, issueless misery” Samuel Beckett, from Molloy OKAY, a while back (2013!) I constructed these units the Digital Audio Degeneration Units. They are better explained on the attached jpegs, but they were designed to degrade digital audio at 20 second samples. from there you bounced them back and forth until arriving at the desired point of degeneration. For years I worked only with analog equipment. with this i didn't have to lug around a bunch of components. Anyway. i built these for friends, fiends, and had them work on it. the two that responded were Jeph Jerman and Vertonen.
